Spring Awakening
GME Songshine 1996 Pflaumheim e.V. (Musical-Projekt-Team „Stage-A“) in Kooperation mit dem Kulturamt Aschaffenburg
"Spring Awakening" is an adaptation of Frank Wedekind's play "Spring Awakening", written in 1891, which has lost none of its relevance and significance in its description of growing up: school or sexual problems of young people, whose parents and teachers treat them with a lack of empathy or indifference as well as a lack of enlightenment which leads to human tragedies, even today.
Author Steven Sater and composer Duncan Sheik have masterfully transformed the story of friendship, self-realization and the impending failure of social conventions into a rock musical. The exciting relationship between the language of the 19th century and the expression and way of speaking of young people in the 21st century in the song lyrics is particularly attractive.
